First  of all, if you dont know, Firefox is a free cross-platform, feature rich, bug free(almost), customizable browser. It replaced Internet Explorer(IE, the big blue ‘e’ icon on every windows OS) completely on my desktop. It has pretty good tabbed feature, popup blocker, & minimal javascript support. Using IE, a potential script can damage your PC, but that damage is minimal in firefox.

These are the plugins/skins which I use on firefox, which you may also find making your browsing experience more enjoyable, safe & pleasing. There are other tons of addons as well, but on weighing the usage (how useful it is) & resourcage (how much resources it consumes), I found these to be the best.

1. Adblock plus 

Use this along with Filterset updater and they would make 90% of the web ads disappear. Still, if you find any new ad on some page, simply click on right corner of firefox, where it says ‘Adblock’ & add the filter yourself. Filterset updater updates the ad structure for you, but sometimes the update maybe late.

Heres the ad-ridden page from TOI as viewed in IE…. & btw, you will also get a flash popup covering quarter of the screen when you load the page. Also the screenshot doest not include the ads when you scroll down.

(Ironically, the adblock will block ads on this page also… ;-)  )

2. Flashblock 

This (as you would guess) blocks all the pesky flash animations on web, & activates a flash only if you wish.

IE Preview of a flash page:  PLus if your have your speakers turned, the audio associated with the game/animation will start pumping out…

FF Preview of same page. Notice the f instead of animation? (thats a big F for the animation)…when you click on it, only then the animation will kick in.

3. Fireftp

This is not much of a daily use addon, if you deal with ftp sites/web development, you may find this useful…but not necessary for usual day-day browsing.

4.  Silver skin

Outlook Silver skin makes the UI for firefox pleasing. Click on any of the above screenshots for my FF skin. You may find others convenient as well. Go to FF themes section to explore more.

5. Tab Mix Plus

Did you ever wish you could undo, when you accidentally closed a webpage? Tabmix plus can restore that for you. Additionally, it includes more feautures on tabs. I like the ‘restore session’ feature the most.

6. NoScript

A webpage may look normal, but some ads placed on the site, may contain dangerous scripts & the site owner may not know this. Noscript blocks all javascripts, you can enable only the ones you want….

The title sounds funny…. isn’ it??

Weekend means a lot to most of us, but when u find that the weekend is so lazy u’ll go crazy. Dont u think so? It happened for me too. Just wanted to share how boring a weekend could be if u plan nothing or the plan was not proper…….

I planned to clean my old appartment with other friends during weekend. So, I went there on time and no one turned up. U feel so sick, waiting for people and doing nothing. I waited till there alone till evening cleaning small things. Got so tired, finally got freshed and had a goood sleep for 4 hours.

Finally, I woke up only when my new chinese roomate made hell a loud noice in the kitchen (Actually, he was trying to cut the frozen meat for the dinner). Then i get a call from my old roommate asking for a dinner out. Atlast, we landed in the Western Pizza corner (one of the best Pizza corner in my City), orderd for XL Western Chicken Pizza Just for 3 guys. Dont u think it would be too much?? Yeah, it was hell a lot for 3 people for dinner and that too it was full of cheeze. I hate cheeze, but no pizza can be found without cheese. But at that time, seeing this Pizza i felt like it had all the Cheeze in the world. i was so cheezy, rather it looked like another cheese Cake. And this cheeze spoiled my whole night sleep.

Next day, I woke up early at 5.00 AM and was not able to sleep, coz i was feeling thirst like hell. So, woke up and came to the university by walk. It was really wondefull walking early in the morning. It reminded me of my school days. No one around, Walkin alone on the lonely road, It was great fun. This way, my weekend was so Cheezy……………

Ravi Babu, who started his career as director with the Film Allari, is directing the a new movie which is a remake of Bollywood superhit Page 3. Konkana Sen Sharma was appreciated for role in that movie. Now, Bhumika is trying to make her mark as a Journalist, who is doing the role of Konkana Sen Shrama in original.

Hey guys….

I am so happy today….. for many reasons obviously… ….

First thing is, I got my Teaching assistantship approved for Fall semester (starts from September to December and will be extended to the next semester) ….. This will pay me more than what i am getting now…… i will be paid 1200 CAD per month, now i am getting 850 CAD per month …. Not only that, this also gives me good experience in teaching…. anyways, that is one thing i wanted to say u guys….

Second is, My prof is happy with my performance. ….. i am also taking two courses in next semester…. one is course on PDE’s and one a reading course……

Then next thing is,……i got my credit card approved…. . so no problem of paisa now…… i will be getting it soon…. I also got my memory card for my Camera…. so lots of photos now…..

arey one more thing…. i forgot is….  I will soon be visiting Americal Border soon (may be second weekend of August)….. ….. It is not just a visit, there actually is some ther reason…. funny reason obviously… .. one of my old roommate got approved for his PR(Permenant Resident) Status….. so, the final stage is to cross the canadian border and enter again, then ur immigration status changes and u will be a permenant resident here….. not a citizen… Doesn’t it sound funny…. so planned for a drive…. hope it goes welll….

I also changed my room….. My new roomamte is Christian (Indian)…. . he listens to christ songa even in the late night…. there are lot of Wierd things to say about my new house mates…. will comeback with that soon…..
