Life in a Metro - music review
Music from this relatively new Bollywood flick feature some of the new budding artists in Indian cinema/music industry - like KK(a veteran though), James, Soham etc. Music is on the light rock style, more towards soothing & passionate rhythms.
The songs in the movie are also pictured quite differently as well. No more lead characters dancing on a beach or running around trees with a bunch of indentical-clad emotion-less extras dying to wait for the director’s magical ‘PACKUP’ call. No more stopping story for 5 mins - this might affect filling up your popcorn & visiting the John’s for some time…

Priyanka Chopra to play a supermodel

Former Miss World Priyanka Chopra is all set to play a supermodel in a film that dwells on the darker side of a career in modeling.
The film will be directed by Madhur Bhandarkar who has so far done critically acclaimed films like Chandni Bar , Page 3 , Corporate and Traffic Signal .
Before becoming Miss India World and later becoming Miss World 2000 Priyanka had walked the ramp as a model and that made her a great choice for Bhandarkar’s project.
The film titled, ‘Fashion Show: The Ugly Side of Beautiful People’, is being bankrolled by UTV with whom Priyanka recently signed a three-film contract worth Rs.4 to 5 crore.
Also in the film is Kangana Ranaut , who has the looks and demeanor of a model and with whom UTV has a similar three film contract.
Under the UTV contract both Priyanka and Kangana enjoy artistic freedom and the two decided to sign up only because they felt the roles suited them well. Many supermodels are also expected to feature in the film though Priyanka will play the lead.
Bhandarkar will be venturing into the big league with the movie, which is budgeted at Rs 20 crore.
Bhandarkar has yet to finish the first screenplay and is understandably reluctant to talk about the cast or the roles. The film is expected to hit the floors on September 15 and lavish runways are being erected at Nitin Desai’s Studios in Karjat.
Rohit Bal has been signed up as the fashion consultant for the film and will also make a special appearance in the film.

Sridevi, the impish diva of the 1980s who stole millions of hearts with her supreme spontaneity in hits like Mr India, Chaalbaaz and Chandni, is back in business.
Married to producer Boney Kapoor and the mother of two daughters, Sridevi will soon be sizzling in her hubby’s film. Boney has just returned from a five-week tour of the US and Russia looking for virgin locations for his wife’s comeback project.
Confirming the news, Boney told IANS: “We’re certainly putting together a project that will hopefully do full justice to Sri’s comeback. I’m aware her fans haven’t changed their loyalties.”
The return of the screen goddess has been in the pipeline for months now. But now when Madhuri Dixit, who at one time was Sridevi’s closest competitor, has almost completed work on her comeback film Aaja Nachle, the mood in the Boney camp regarding Sri’s return is upbeat.
However, Boney doesn’t see Madhuri as a competitor or an outsider.The actress will be seen in a guest appearance in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ready to release Halla Bol.
He says: “Madhuri is in many ways a product of our production house. She did some of her finest films like Pukar for me. Both Sri and I are very proud of her.”
In fact, some years ago Yash Raj Films was all set to re-launch Sridevi’s career. That project fell through.
Boney is sparing no pains to ensure that Sridevi, last seen in Boney’s Judaai 10 years ago, is brought back in style. Before that, the actress will be seen in a guest appearance in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ready to release Halla Bol.
